ABOUT THE GROCERY PAGES

The Grocery Pages are what I call the "Working Pages", meaning these pages are the most dominant of all the other worksheets and indeed, both the Order and Shopping Lists are automatically updated from the Grocery Pages.  The first important note to make is that all cells highlighted in yellow can be amended.

When you type in the names of your products be careful not to duplicate the names, otherwise the Shopping List may populate those same items and their prices.  Next, choose from Each, ml (millilitres), ltr (litres), gram and KG under the Unit Measure (UOM) columns in the Grocery Pages.  Then enter how many times a product goes into a KG (Fruit & Veg and Meat, Poultry & Seafood worksheets only);

Enter the the size of the product under the Unit Size column in the remaining Grocery Pages, then enter the product's price under Price/KG column (Fruit & Veg and Meat, Poultry & Seafood pages only) and product's price under Unit Price column in the remaining Grocery Pages. Next, enter quantities required under Quantity column only if you don't intend to enter the quantities from within the Order List. 

NB: If you enter quantities in both the Order List and Grocery Pages, the Shopping List will record the quantities from the Grocery Pages as these are the dominant pages that all the other worksheets are updated from.  So, like us, if your preference is to enter your orders from the Order List, just make sure all the quantities in the Grocery Pages have been deleted.

Enter comments under Comments column.  If you intend to record specials please type them in as 5.00 special, Franklins, etc (you will not need to enter the $ symbol);

Finally, choose between Yes or No under Secondary Supermarket column and/or Yes or No under Pharmaceutical column (in Family Hygiene, Vitamins & Medicines worksheet). The Budget Diary will then automatically total up your Primary Supermarket, Secondary Supermarket and Pharmaceutical Project Grand Totals.

NB: Avoid entering spaces, punctuation marks or letters into either a price or quantity column as these will cause Grocery Budget malfunctions.  Finally, if you require more rows than what has been allocated in a grocery page, please Contact Us.  To date, there are a total of 520 rows available in which to build your own Grocery Budget.

On average, it takes our family no more than 15 minutes to enter the quantities, from the Order List, into the Grocery Pages.
