Shopping List

The Shopping List is automatically updated by amendments you make in the Grocery Pages.  You can set your own Budget Target, ideally lower than the projected Grand Total so you can challenge yourself.  If you have entered specials under Comments, the Shopping List will automatically deduct the difference between the full unit price and the special price.

If you make entries in the Grocery Pages under the Unit of Measure (Each, grams, KG, ml, ltr) and in the Unit Size Columns and the unit sizes are less than one litre or one kilogram, the Shopping List will automatically calculate your unit prices per 100 grams/ml (millilitres).  However, if the unit size is equal to or greater than one litre or one kilogram, then your unit price will be per one litre or one kilogram.

NB: Remember, you must reset (auto filter) your Shopping List before you print

If you need to make amendments to the Shopping List Grand Total, you will need to revisit the worksheet you entered the quantities in, either the Grocery Pages or Order List.  Where rows are in bold, these are the items you wish to purchase from your Secondary Supermarket or chemist;

The Shopping List is what you print off and take with you to the supermarket.  Just like the Order List, the Shopping List which cannot be amended (apart from recording a Budget Target), is also automatically populated; but this time, by much more results from the grocery pages including:

  • Item Descriptions;

  • Unit Prices;

  • Quantities;

  • Prices per kilogram (KG); and

  • Comments.

NB: On average, this process takes our family no more than 15 minutes to complete.

The Total Price Column

The Total Price Column is automatically calculated based on the Unit Price or Price/KG Columns multiplied by the QTY Column. You will also see that each grocery section has it's own sub total; while a grand total is automatically recorded at the bottom of the worksheet.
